aDDiTATe ::\/\/ \u201cSecond Person\u201d \u2013 is the guise of established DJ and producer Rick Cee.<\/span><\/p>\n

Back in 1994 he got hold of some decks for just \u00a335 \u2013 one Sony and one Technics, using a wheel to change the pitch, complete with a mixer originally from Tandy (inclusive of echo button!). Months later he was playing the main room at Fluid in Manchester and it wasn\u2019t before long that he found himself DJing at numerous \u2018legal\u2019 parties.<\/span><\/p>\n

Over the next 14 years, life quickly changed to a nocturnal existence spanning the Globe and playing with some of the biggest names in House and Techno. He was soon playing clubs such as Garlands, Sankey\u2019s, Egg & Pacha in the UK. From the summer of 2002, his reputation crossed the continent when he got asked to play at Caf\u00e9 Mambo, Kanya, The Orange Corner, Plastik and Eden in Ibiza, Fiesta En La Playa in Tulum, Mexico, Hikka Fest in Sri Lanka, yacht week in Italy and most recently Mind the Gap_ boat party in Malta. In terms of productions, he\u2019s had many successful releases and exposure in the Tech House Beatport top 10 and reached number 22 in all releases supported by Joseph Capriati, Richie Hawtin & Marco Carola. On top of that, he ran a successful weekly show on S-Dance live London for four years and brings the show back to Point Blank FM showcasing the labels new and unreleased artist material.<\/span><\/p>\n

He is also label Boss of Cut The Mustard Recordings in London (https:\/\/www.ctmrecordings.com\/). Setup by the London-based duo, Rick Cee and Armack (AKA Rob McBride), realised their vision in 2012 with the creation of CutTheMustard (CTM) Recordings \u2013 \u201cLondon\u2019s Independently Global\u201d house & Techno music label.<\/span><\/p>\n

Both owners had been involved in house music scene for over a decade, DJing and promoting at clubs in the UK, Ibiza and throughout the world. Over this time they built a strong network of fellow producers and DJs who often expressed a similar concern \u2013 they know they are producing good quality tracks, but focusing solely on their local market (as many unknown producers and labels often do), they can\u2019t achieve the level of promotion that they require to gain significant recognition, creating the CTM community where artists remix each other\u2019s tracks for better exposure. CTM\u2019s ethos is to be a local independent label, founded and based in London, but with a truly global presence.<\/span><\/p>\n

Enough about the past\u2026. aDDiTATe\u2019s original love for vinyl still continues today and provides inspiration for his House & Techno productions. His DJ setup includes 1210\u2019s, Maschine MK2, Traktor Scratch, Controllers, Stems and Nexus all working in harmony to provide as much variation to mixes as possible with a DD-7 thrown in for good measure.
